At the end of April 2015 ZMOS organized International conference “Local authorities and Development cooperation” in Bratislava. The Congress of Local Public Authorities of Moldova (CALM) representatives were also present there. PFD program presentation was part of the conference program.
Association of Towns and Communities of Slovakia (ZMOS) is the largest non-governmental organization uniting municipalities as legal entities, which was established in 1990 in Žilina. At present, out of the total number of 2,930 towns and villages in the Slovak Republic, 2792 are members, which represent 95% of the municipalities of Slovakia. Towns, villages and boroughs are associated and aggregated into 60 regional associations of ZMOS, based on their manifested voluntary solidarity. Under the statutes, ZMOS submits proposals and suggestions for the problems of local governance and participates in their solutions.
