10 Local Governments from BiH selected for our programme

Ten Local Self-Governments (LGs) have been selected to participate in a transformative initiative aimed at strengthening public financial management.  

Led by UNDP Bosnia and Herzegovina, the “Building an Efficient and Transparent Public Finance System in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BET-PFM)” project aims to enhance public financial management, ensuring greater efficiency, transparency, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and EU standards.

Strong Interest in Public Financial Reform 

The public call for participation in the BET-PFM project was announced on January 15, 2025, with applications open until February 14, 2025. A total of 21 local governments applied, demonstrating strong interest in strengthening public financial management. 

A dedicated commission was appointed by UNDP. It carefully reviewed and evaluated each application based on essential, additional, and specific criteria outlined in the public call. The initiative is part of the broader Public and Private Finance for Development programme, supported by the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic. Bosnia and Herzegovina has been a programme partner country since 2020. Read more.
